Helping The Community Of Malmesbury
What We Do?
Helping the Community of Malmesbury began when I was about 12 years old. My neighbour, Julie, got involved with local clean-up projects, starting with cutting back overgrown hedges around town. Over time, our efforts expanded to include regular litter picking. Throughout the years, we’ve removed hundreds of bags of litter from the environment.
Today, I proudly serve as a Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador and remain actively involved in our local community.

The James Dyson Foundation have donated £500 to ‘Helping The Community Of Malmesbury’ towards the purchase of a grit spreader and salt for use in the Malmesbury area.
During the winter period, pavements around Malmesbury get extremely slippery, which makes it dangerous for people walking to school and work. Wiltshire Council does grit some of the major roads in and out of the town but pavement gritting is not included in that work so it falls on residents and community organisations to take responsibility.
For the last couple of years we have been using wheelbarrows and spades to grit the pavements, this can be very time consuming and we can put the grit spreader to use on the main pathways around the town which include Tetbury Hill, Abbey Steps and High Street area of the town. Having this grit spreader will make for a much quicker job. A big thank you to them for the donation.

This includes the purchase of a Yellow Grit Bin and 10 Bags of White Rock Salt which can be used in the gritter. Along with gloves and a Hi Vis Jacket.
